The Locker Project
The Locker Project is the first of its kind in the UK. We are working with Chelmsford City Council to install lockers for rough sleepers to store their belongings. It is so important for rough sleepers to have access to a place where they can store dry clothing, bedding, medication and personal belongings that otherwise risk getting damaged, lost or stolen.
A similar scheme in Portugal has resulted in 45 people moving into permanent accommodation, because through the locker project we can access those that need help and assist in introducing them to the agencies that can help them longer term. We are hopeful that the Chelmsford project will be equally successful but we need help to purchase the lockers and manage the scheme. This small act of kindness will give hope and help to those in need.
